The IPL 2020 Auction is exactly a month away as all the franchises would have begun their respective planning process for the money splashing event. Over the years, the fans have seen several lesser-known stars earn massive contracts from the IPL franchises. Apart from the unknown talents, there have also been cases where the teams spent all they had to gain the services of players who were released by another team just before the auction.

The best example of this scenario is Yuvraj Singh’s auction in 2015. Royal Challengers Bangalore had bought the 2011 World Cup hero at a whopping amount of 14 Crores INR. Since his performance was not satisfactory, they released him before the 2015 auction. Delhi Daredevils snapped Yuvraj up after submitting a record bid of 16 Crores INR.

Thus, in this year’s auction, there could be instances that a released player may earn more than what he did in 2019. The player could even become a million dollar baby i.e. he can earn a contract of 7 Crores INR or more.

Here’s a look at the 5 players who can be million-dollar babies in IPL 2020 Auction

1. Chris Lynn

The hard-hitting opener from Australia, Chris Lynn had been in good touch in IPL 2019 where he had scored over 400 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders.

However, the franchise surprisingly released him before the auction. Given how big a name Lynn is in T20 cricket, he will on the wish-list of a plethora of franchises.

The right-handed batsman had proved his talent recently in the T10 League where he broke the record of the highest individual score of the league by playing a knock of 91 runs. Hence, the chances that the Australian opener earns a big fat contract this year are very high.
