Donning the national jersey in a prestigious event like the World Cup and shining in the marquee event is a dream for any international player. The Hitman showcased his run-scoring spree in the 2019 World Cup and hogged the headlines by becoming the first player to hit five hundreds in a single World Cup.

Rohit had a sensational World Cup 2019 as he amassed 648 runs in 9 games at an impressive average of 81 including five tons and a half-century. Rohit now has six centuries spanning over two World Cups and is currently tied with Sachin Tendulkar, who also has six World Cup centuries to his name.

However, the Master Blaster’s tons have come from 44 innings while Rohit’s tons have come from just 16 innings. Considering the pressure to perform at the marquee event, it will surely be a daunting task for any individual to topple Rohit Sharma’s record for most centuries in a single World Cup.
