The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for its ability to churn out young talent from the remote areas of the country. Hardik, Bumrah made their International debuts together and currently are one of the mainstays in the Indian team. Almost in every season of IPL, fresh talents emerge, who knocks the doors of the Indian team. Selectors keep an eye on the young players to build a pool of cricketers.

Prasidh Krishna started his first-class career with a bang when he got a five-wicket haul against the touring Bangladesh side in 2015. It was an auspicious beginning for the youngster as he got Rony Talukdar out which was a wicket of his very first ball in first-class cricket.

He has done significantly well, in the limited opportunities he has got for his state team Karnataka. In the IPL he has been effective too with 12 wickets in 16 games. He bowls economically in the death overs and can move the ball both ways with a decent speed. The fact that he is a good death bowler could see him being drafted into the Indian team in future.

Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan hails from Jharkhand. Yes, no wonder he opted to be a wicketkeeper growing up seeing his idol Mahendra Singh Dhoni play. He was entrusted with the responsibility of leading Indian under 19 team in the world cup,2016 which India eventually lost to the West- Indies in the finals. He has a decent record in the first class cricket and his best effort is 273 runs against a very strong Delhi team.

In IPL too he came into the limelight when he blasted 62 runs in just 21 balls against KKR. He has played 34 matches in IPL scoring 644 runs with a decent strike rate of around 135. Now with MS Dhoni set to retire after the World cup 2019 and Dinesh Karthik not getting younger, Ishan along with Rishab Pant are expected to play the role of the wicket-keeper batsman for team India in the future.

Shreyas Gopal

Shreyas Gopal a technically sound middle-order batsman who is a leggie. But eventually, his secondary skill did end up tipping his main ability. After a terrific domestic season for Karnataka in 2013/2014, he got an IPL Contract with Mumbai Indians. However, he came into limelight when he played for Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 season. His four-wicket haul against the RCB ensured that Rajasthan Royals entered into the playoffs. Gopal is famous for bowling googlies and has a great track record against Virat Kohli and AB De – Villiers getting them out a couple of times so far in IPL.

He has played 27 matches in IPL, taking 30 wickets with an economy rate of 7.45 which is excellent for a leg spinner. The fact that captains are more inclined towards playing leg spinners especially in the shorter format of the game nowadays and Gopal is a very capable batsman who can bat in the lower middle order. There are high chances that we may see Shreyas Gopal wearing Indian jersey in the future.

Navdeep Saini is a deceptive medium-fast bowler who relies more on seam and accuracy rather than speed. He was the leading wicket-taker for Delhi in the 2017-18 Ranji season, as he picked up 34 wickets in just 8 matches. He was also the leading wicket-taker for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy where he got 16 wickets in just 8 matches. Currently, he plays for RCB in the IPL. Former International and ex- Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir is quite impressed by the fast bowler and has played an important role in shaping up his career so far.

In IPL he has taken 6 wickets in 10 matches with an economy rate of 7.87. His ability with the ball and his accuracy may see him drafted into the Indian team in the future.

 Rahul Chahar

Unlike his big brother Deepak Chahar who is a fast bowler, Rahul Chahar decided to be a leg spinner. It is quite refreshing to see a leg spinner flighting the ball and going for wickets not worrying about the runs. The 19-year-old Was lauded by many great players in the business. In this IPL season, he represents Mumbai Indians team.

In IPL he has played 10 matches, picking 11 wickets. He averages 20.91 per wicket and the best part is that he bowls at less than 7 runs per over which is a magnificent effort. His bowling effort against the Rajasthan Royals was top class when he got 3 wickets including 2 internationals in the form of Ajinkya Rahane and Ben Stokes. With age on his side, he is a strong contender to be included in the Indian team in the future and the fact that he is a brilliant fielder too is the icing on the cake.

There was a lot of talking about the importance of IPL but there is no second thought that the league provides an opportunity to the younger crop of players to perform and get an instant recognition not only in India, but the whole world.
