The Tamil-Nadu based cricketer Varun Chakravarthy has taken the world by surprise after his mesmerizing performance in the world’s best league, IPL. Plying his trade for KKR, the 29-year-old plucked 17 wickets at an economy of 6.84. Emerging from the Tamil Nadu Premier League, Varun has everything that a bowler requires in the shortest format of the game.

Although Varun claimed only 9 wickets in the TNPL, his economy and dot ball percentage (4.7 and 52.08 respectively) stood out the most. Overall, he bowled 125 dot balls in 10 innings and was one of the finds of the tournament.

Boasting a considerable amount of experience in professional cricket, he claimed his candidature for the International selection on the back of match-winning performances which impacted the purple and gold outfit remarkably.  To his dismay, the leg-break tweaker could not make it to Australia despite bagging the national call recently. He is currently recuperating from a shoulder injury which he sustained during the IPL.
