The IPL has been the stepping stone to success for many young Indian cricketers in the last decade. It’s a platform that not only allows cricketers to rub shoulders with the best talent in the world, but also prepares them to handle pressure situations. The tournament helps players get used to playing in front of huge crowds and become better-equipped to handle tense moments.

Talented uncapped players, the ones yet to make their India debut, are key components of any IPL side. The uncapped players also have an opportunity to impress the selectors by performing at the biggest stage and put their name in reckoning for national selectors.

IPL has always been like a factory, churning world-class talents for the Indian national team. The future indeed does look bright for Team India, as there are a lot of talented players knocking at the door.

In the article, we look at six Indian who played most IPL seasons but are yet to make their debut for the national team: –

1. Suryakumar Yadav (9 seasons)

Suryakumar Yadav has been exceptional in the IPL. He received an IPL contract from Mumbai Indians for 2012 season though he was ignored throughout the season due to the presence of veteran players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard.

In the 2014 IPL auction, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) went for the young talent and Suryakumar did justice to their trust. He broke the headlines in IPL 2015 when he hit a match-winning – 20-ball 46 with five sixes – against Mumbai Indians that surprised many.

His pivotal cameos earned him the designation of vice-captain of the team (KKR) and he played all the matches in seventh edition of the IPL, primarily due to his incredible strike-rate. He again went to his home team Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL auction and has been exceptional for them as well.

The stylish right-hand batsman is probably one of the most popular names from the pool of uncapped Indian players. He has scored reasonably well in every season in domestic cricket for the Mumbai side as well.

The stylish right-hand batsman has looked extremely confident and has been the backbone for all the teams he has represented. There are places in India’s limited-overs sides that are up for grabs. On the back of some decent knocks in IPL 2020, Yadav would fancy his chances to be selected in the Indian team.
