6 Mistakes franchises committed in the IPL Auction; the Released star players: Indian Premier League (IPL) has kicked off in style, a few teams wanted to change their team combinations for the 8th edition and in the process have released a few players. While some franchises would admit they made a blunder releasing the players they did as their move rather benefited the side that has bought those players. Here is the list of the players whose release might leave an unfulfilled void for their previous teams. Each mistake here is the release of a player.

1. Chris Gayle:

Chris Gayle, easily the most sought after player in the T20 format and has been the leading batsman by all means in the IPL. No wonder, the RCB management did not release him in 2015 Auction. But, prior to his association with RCB, he was with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and was not very impressive with the bat. Later, he was drafted into the Bangalore team, and his performance only bettered while the team looks up to him with lots of expectations. He has scored an unbelievable 175* against the Pune Warriors, which still is the highest score in the league. In the 2013 season, he had scored 705 runs in the 16 games for Bangalore. The KKR would now be rethinking their decision of releasing a player of his caliber.
