Legendary Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh announced his retirement from all forms of the game on 24th December 2021. Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to announce the decision.

Harbhajan tweeted that all good things must eventually come to an end, and added that cricket has given him everything in life. Harbhajan also thanked all the people who had made his 23-year journey in cricket a memorable one.

“All good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life, I would like to thank everyone who made this 23-year-long journey beautiful and memorable. My heartfelt thank you. Grateful,” tweeted Harbhajan Singh.

Cricketing world reacts to Harbhajan Singh’s retirement

And, the cricketing world has reacted to the retirement of the legendary Indian off-spinner. While Harbhajan’s teammate and batting great VVS Laxman termed the ‘Turbanator’ as a tremendous exponent of off-spin, Pragyan Ojha termed Harbhajan Singh as an inspiration for the young spinners in the country.

Former Indian pacer Sreesanth tweeted that Harbhajan Singh is one of the best cricketers to have played the game, and termed it a huge honour to have played with him, while Shikhar Dhawan wished Harbhajan Singh good luck for his next innings. Kuldeep Yadav feels that Harbhajan Singh’s presence in the game will be missed. Aakash Chopra termed Harbhajan as a champion. KL Rahul stated that Harbhajan is an inspiration for all cricketers.

Harbhajan Singh represented India in 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is. The right arm spin bowling legend is the 4th highest wicket-taker for the Indian side in Tests, with 417 scalps to his name.
