A Pakistani fan was left red-faced when he tried to mess around with Aakash Chopra on Twitter. It all started when Chopra took a sly dig at Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed for his comments before the game against Australia. Sarfaraz had boldly said that all the teams were scared of Pakistan. However, the reigning Champions Trophy winners failed to live up their captain’s words. Australia beat them by 41 runs on Wednesday to get back to winning ways.

Barring few mini-phases in the game, Pakistan never really managed to put pressure on Australia. Deciding to bowl first in overcast conditions, Pakistan’s pacers failed to make early inroads as David Warner and Aaron Finch added 146 runs for the first wicket. At 223 for 2 in the 34th over, Australia were well on their way to post a score in excess of 300. However, Pakistan managed to stage a comeback thanks to Mohammad Amir and bowled them out for 307.

In reply, Pakistan were in a strong position at 136 for 2 before losing 4 wickets for just 24 runs. The game looked all but over before the likes of Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz decided to show their batting prowess. The fast-bowlers hit some big blows to revive their team’s bleak hopes but Mitchell Starc dashed their hopes. The pacer sent back Wahab and Amir in the same over before Glenn Maxwell ran out Sarfaraz Ahmed to take Australia over the line.

Following the game, Aakash Chopra took to Twitter to remind Pakistan team of their captain’s bold comment. Taking a dig at them, Chopra tweeted: “Every team is scared of Pakistan—Sarfraz. I’m sure Pakistan is equally scared of the Pakistan that turned up today to play against Australia ????????”

As expected, the tweet did not go down well with the Pakistani fans and one of them made sure to express his displeasure. Reminding Chopra of Pakistan’s famous win over India in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy, the fan warned the former India batsman to not celebrate much.

Aakash’s fitting reply:

Aakash noticed the comment from the Pakistani fan and shut him up with a fitting reply. The cricketer-turned-commentator replied: “Aur agar World Cup wali?? You are free to choose the edition of your liking ☺️???? love from India.”
