East Delhi’s BJP MP Gautam Gambhir has come under severe criticism for putting his duties for people behind his job as a cricket commentator lately and the opportunity was taken by the in-power Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to troll the former India captain, who retired from the game recently.

Gambhir had said some hard words towards the AAP previously for the troublesome and dangerously polluted air in the state of Delhi and for the government’s inability to control the said toxicity in the breathable air. Delhi AQI even after the festival of Diwali has been 395 which is still dangerously hazardous for the people in the region.

AAP members take Gautam Gambhir to task over missing an important meeting

A journalist slammed Gautam Gambhir, who is on commentary duties during the ongoing first Test between India and Bangladesh at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, for missing an important meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee of Urban Development specifically to discuss taking steps for curbing pollution in the state. This issue has been the main talking point for Gambhir while targeting the Arvind Kejriwal government.

Gambhir had been summoned to a high-level parliamentary panel meet to discuss solutions for the asphyxiating Delhi air problem, but the former India opener was seen enjoying jalebis and other snacks with fellow commentators VVS Laxman and Jatin Sapru in Indore. AAP was viciously targeted by Gambhir during his election campaign and now the ball is in another party’s court as AAP party members took to Twitter to troll Gambhir.

The members called for strict action on the MP for skipping such an important meeting on a very serious issue and asked him to stop blaming Kejriwal and start working. The parliamentary committee that called for the meeting has taken strong objection to the absence of Gautam Gambhir and other MPs who had been beckoned; only four of 29 MPs called to the meeting turned up.

“You have told me about this. I will find out the details and investigate them. We are always very serious about pollution. I have emphasized that pollution is not only Delhi’s problem. I have ordered a joint action plan. Teams are working with coordination,” Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar told reporters.
