Veteran Bangladesh cricketer Abdur Razzak, who had earlier suffered a road accident while driving from Khulna, compared the incident to a scene from a Hollywood movie. He was driving along with some members of his family when a punctured tire made Razzak lose control of the vehicle.

Everyone present in the vehicle suffered some minor injuries and were then assisted by local police. Nevertheless, Abdur Razzak and his family are thankfully out of danger now. Firoz, his cousin shared what he felt after having found out about the accident.

Cousin describes the incident

“It can’t be described in words unless you had seen the incident. Raz got injured in his eyes. There were not much injury other than that. The car has been destroyed completely. By the grace of almighty Allah everyone who was in the car is safe now. Raz bhai says, it was nothing less than a Hollywood movie scene,” he said.

Those in a vehicle which was on the road when Razzak met with the accident noticed that the cricketer’s car had gone off the road. They immediately called for help and assisted the family in bringing them safely out of danger. “Had the people who were in that car not noticed, it would have been very dangerous,” Firoz added.

On Tuesday night, Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim shared a message of concern and requested Bangladeshi fans to pour their good wishes for the cricketer. His message on Facebook read, “Our very own Razzak Raz bhai had a severe accident on his way from Khulna. I request you all to pray for him please!!!”

35-year-old Razzak is the third-highest ODI wicket-taker for Bangladesh. He is also one of the only three Bangladesh bowlers who have more than 200 wickets under the belt in the 50-over format, the other two stalwarts being former Bangladesh captains Mashrafe Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan.
