The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is an emerging nation when it comes to playing cricket at the highest level. But it can very well be said that Rohan Mustafa is among their most prolific players, both in the batting and bowling department. In 39 ODIs and 43 T20Is, the 32-year-old has over 1,500 runs to go with one century and five half-centuries to show for his efforts.

At the present point in time, Mustafa is plying his trade for Team Abu Dhabi in the ongoing T10 League, which is being played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Even as Mustafa has been a part of a number of jaw-dropping moments for his team, on Monday, February 1, he was involved in a hilarious incident and the fans and his teammates laughed their belly out.

Rohan Mustafa in a tangle

It happened during the day’s second game between Team Abu Dhabi and Northern Warriors. In the second innings, when Nicholas Pooran’s Warriors were chasing 124 runs, Mustafa was caught shirtless. The Kohat-born was seen changing his jersey when the ball went past him for a boundary. Pooran, who was sitting in the dugout, couldn’t control his laughter.

As far as the match was concerned, it turned out to be an absolute thriller, though the Warriors won by eight wickets. After being put in to bat first, Team Abu Dhabi smashed 123 runs for the loss of three wickets in their 10 overs.

Paul Stirling and Chris Gayle didn’t trouble the scorers much, but then, Luke Wright and Joe Clarke kept the scoreboard ticking for their team. Clarke went on to score 50 runs off 24 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes.

Ben Duckett also chipped in with a handy 17-ball 34, helping Team Abu Dhabi post the daunting total. In the run-chase, the Warriors, more or less, were clinical. Lendl Simmons and Waseem Muhammad weaved magic.

The duo put on 121 runs for the opening wicket in a mere 9.3 overs. Muhammad was outstanding as he managed 76 runs off 34 balls with seven fours and six sixes. In the last ball, Rovman Powell scored a couple to take the Warriors home.
