Adam Gilchrist surprised over Preity Zinta’s marriage

While most of the world were certainly surprised about the marriage of Preity Zinta, Adam Gilchrist was one of those people. When asked about how he felt about the news, Gilchrist’s reaction was: “Is that correct? I thought I heard that. When was that?” Having been one of the most feared batsmen on his day, Adam Gilchrist has now changed roles rather significantly. He is now Australia’s Education Ambassador to India.

He later went on to add, “Heartfelt congratulations to Preity. I am very happy for her. We were very close to each other. She’s not just passionate about the game, but also about everything else that she gets involved in.”

Despite wielding his bat the way he did during his time as a cricketer, Gilchrist has also known to do a dance move or two. More recently, Gilly, as he is fondly known, was seen doing the Gangnam Style dance.

Speaking about the incident, Gilly said: “Fortunately, no one will have to see me dancing again as I won’t be playing anymore. Leave cool dancing to the cool boys now!” As for his future plans, Gilly said that at the moment, he is enjoying his role as Australia’s Education Ambassador to India.

Talking about Virat Kohli, Gilchrist said, “He’s got the fire in his belly. He is doing great. He is a determined young man and he’s one of the best players in the game at the moment. It’s obvious that in time, he will lead India in all formats of the game.” On the comparisons drawn between Sachin and Virat, he said, “I don’t believe in comparisons. Sachin was extraordinary while Virat is on an extraordinary journey.”
