“The day you stop learning is the day you die.” No player on this planet is perfect. Players go through lean patches as well and that is an integral part of their cricketing career. The player who keeps learning and focusing on his game will be able to get out of his lean patch much sooner than later.

The Chennai Super Kings showed the importance of having experience in the playing XI. There is absolutely nothing that is more valuable than experience and that experience is gained by learning from the seniors and implementing it in matches consistently.

Rising stars of Indian cricket

The Indian U19 team stunned the world by putting up a dominating performance in New Zealand. Led by Prithvi Shaw, the men in blue were no match for their counterparts. The Indians were playing in a different league as they absolutely crushed the other nations matches after matches and cruised towards the end. Prithvi Shaw is touted to be the next big thing in Indian cricket. The youngster is already showing signs of maturity. He did considerably well in the Ranji Trophy and the Indian Premier League.

Ajinkya Rahane, the stand-in captain for India, provided some valuable batting tips to Prithvi Shaw at the MIG Cricket Club in Bandra yesterday. Shaw will be hoping to gain some valuable inputs from Rahane that will help him to progress further in his career. The youngster is still in the early days of his career and to receive inputs and play alongside some of the best players in the world can work wonders for him.

Meanwhile, Rahane has the task of leading the Indian contingent in the historic Test against Afghanistan. He knows that the team cannot take things lightly even though Afghanistan are playing their first test. The likes of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman are constant threats for the opposition and they must work a way out to play them. The game will be placed at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on June 14.
