Team India bowled tremendously well on the first day of the ongoing fifth Test match against England. They scalped seven wickets out of which six came in the final session. It was all England until then as the duo of Alastair Cook and Moeen Ali had somehow played out the relentless spell in the middle session. Both of them were dropped as well and slowly the desperation crept in which made India lose their reviews which Ajit Agarkar feels were completely needless.

They first used up their review on Moeen Ali who shouldered arms to the incoming delivery from Jasprit Bumrah and was hit on the pads. But the hawk-eye suggested that it was going over the stumps and then the next review was an utter waste which they took to see the back of Cook who was playing a dogged knock like he has done all his career. Hence, the situation was India had lost both their reviews in the first couple of sessions itself with nine wickets in hand for the opposition.

Kohli should control himself

Ajit Agarkar felt that the way Virat Kohli is involved in the game, he gets animated after every big appeal and ends up taking a review eventually. He believed that the bowler and the wicketkeeper should help him out more and also went on to say that Kohli should control himself sometimes.

“You can see how involved in the game he (Kohli) is. Sometimes he can’t help himself and every time there is an appeal, he wants to take a review. You got to be a bit smarter. I think the bowler and the wicketkeeper should help him out but he also needs to control himself a little bit. It could easily cost you the game now. They took a couple of ordinary reviews yesterday, to be frank,” he said.

Meanwhile, England‘s lower-order has continued to hurt the visitors as India have failed to clean up the tail on the second day.
