Indian batsman and Mumbai Indians middle-order mainstay Ambati Rayudu suffered a grade 1 groin tear in the first match of the tenth season of the Indian Premier League against the Rising Pune Supergiant. Mumbai coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed the injury as the wicketkeeper-batsman was stretchered off the field.

Due to the injury, Rayudu missed 6 crucial games of their campaign but fortunately, Mumbai did not feel his absence as they comfortably sit at the top of the table. But much to the joy of the Mumbai supporters the cricketer has taken it to Twitter to announce that was declared fit to play again a few days back.

His return to the Mumbai side will definitely be a boost for the franchise as they take on a strong Rising Pune Supergiant team today. But it is still to be seen that if he makes it to the playing XI as Mumbai may not like to change their winning combination which they have been so successful with this season.

Rayudu having regained fitness would be keen on featuring for his franchise once again and put up some notable performances for his side so that he can grab the attention of the selectors ahead of the all-important ICC Champions Trophy. The 31-year-old mentioned in his tweet that he is eagerly waiting for a call up in the MI side again.

Rayudu tweeted- “To all da ppl who were concerned bout my injury. I was declared fit a few days back nd I hav been trainin hard nd eagerly awaiting a call up”

However, the Hyderabadi is not the only player who has returned from injury this season. High profile cricketers like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers had also missed their initial few matches for their team Royal Challengers Bangalore but eventually made a comeback in the side.
