Ambati Rayudu was at his best in the recently concluded Indian Premier League season. He amassed 602 runs in 16 matches at an average of 43 with the strike-rate of 149.75. He was expected to be a part of England T20I series but given a chance in the ODI series, eventually getting ruled out for failing the yo-yo test. According to reports, he got the yo-yo score of below 15.

BCCI selection committee was quick to announce Suresh Raina as his replacement for the three-match ODI series, starting from 12th of July. However, the Hyderabad captain is yet to give up the dream of playing international cricket for the Men in blue. Suresh Raina was already picked in the T20I squad.

“Of course, I have not yet given up hope of playing for India. The dream of playing for India very much remains. I have been working on my game,” he told as quoted by Times Now. Rayudu though did not mention that he failed the yo-yo test but said that he will clear it soon. “I hope to take the test again in the coming days and hope to clear it,” Rayudu further added.

Outing with CSK, the best

After being a part of the successful campaign for Chennai Super Kings, the wicketkeeper-batsman stated that the franchise made him feel at home. He went on to add that the dressing room atmosphere was the reason behind the team’s successful outing. He’s already excited for the upcoming season with the most successful IPL side.

“The franchise made me feel at home. The environment in the team, the warmth of fans, atmosphere and the team management propelled us to give our best. I must thank every player. I am happy that I could experience that feeling. I could express myself. We were in very good space mentally and that really helps. I hope to do better next season,” he concluded.
