Amol Muzumdar reckons no one can match Imran Khan's power-packed career

Imran Khan has had an illustrious career thus far, both on the cricket pitch and as a political honcho. He made his international debut back in 1971 against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Three years later in 1974, he forayed into ODI cricket and ever since, he didn’t look back by any stretch of the imagination.  He went on to play 88 Tests and 175 ODIs in a career which spanned 21 years.

He was equally effective with both bat and ball. The Lahore-born former cricketer has 7516 runs and 544 wickets at the highest level. The 65-year-old also has seven centuries and 37 half-centuries in international cricket. Moreover, the all-rounder has 24 five-wicket hauls for the national team. He also had the privilege to lead the team in the 1992 World Cup in Down Under.

He didn’t let his team down the won the championship for them. The Men in Green won the final against England. Khan scored 72 runs and picked up the last wicket of Richard Illingworth to guide his team to glory. Post his retirement, he founded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in 1996 and has flourished in the political fraternity as well.

Khan roars along

He took part in the General Elections on July 25, 2018, and competed with two more parties- Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). In the end, out of 269 seats, Khan’s troops ended up bagging 109 of them and won the elections. Subsequently, he also became the Honorable Prime Minister of the country.

In the meantime, former cricketer Amol Muzumdar, hailed the enigmatic personality for his authoritative run. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Imran Khan is Pakistan’s prime minister..!. A cricketer A hero A leader. N now the prime minister, only n only he could do it. Kisime yeh Dum Nahi. Sensational.! setting the bar high,”.
