Team India head coach Anil Kumble is off for a vacation with his family after a long and hectic home summer for India where they played 13 Tests against 4 different oppositions. They were simply exceptional throughout the home season and won everything that came by their way.

While they annihilated England and New Zealand by 4-0 and 3-0 margins, they were in for a tough fight against the Aussies which they eventually won by a 2-1 margin after losing the opening Test by a big margin.

In between the Test series, the Men in Blue also played a five-match bilateral series against New Zealand which they narrowly won by a 3-2 margin and followed it up with 2-1 series victories against England in both the ODI and T20I series. Ever since Kumble took up the coaching duties, India has gained from strength to strength starting from the series victory against West Indies. They are yet to lose a series in any of the 3 formats under Kumble.

Taking to his Instagram handle Kumble shared a picture with his wife and wrote a caption, “Taking a short break in Macau after a long season. #TravelDiaries #FamilyTime”. It has been a sensational few months for Kumble and the whole Indian team and it is a much-deserved break for the former leg-spinner who will be again seen with the Indian team during their Champions Trophy title defence in June.

Earlier in 2015, Kumble announced that his resignation from the chief mentor’s post of Mumbai Indians due to some conflicts of interest. While Kumble is enjoying a holiday, most of the members of the Indian team are sweating it out in the IPL while some are recuperating from their injuries. Some of the important members like Jadeja and Umesh Yadav have been given breaks to manage their workloads.

India will start their Champions Trophy title defence against Sri Lanka on June 8 followed by South Africa on 11th. The only change from the previous edition will be in the captaincy slot. While they won the title under MS Dhoni in 2013, they will go out to defend their title under Virat Kohli.
