Anushka Sharma gives a sneak peak into her preparations for Jhulan Goswami's biopic 'Chakda Xpress'

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has started her preparations for a forthcoming biopic to be made on the life and cricketing journey of Indian woman cricketer, Jhulan Goswami. The movie titled ‘Chakda Xpress’ is all set to go on floors this year. The lead actress recently took to her Instagram to give the fans a sneak peek into her preparations.

Sharma, in the post, appears to be perfecting her grip on the cricket ball as well as her bowling action. The Instagram post has garnered much attention with Goswami commenting on it herself. Goswami commented “Very nice 👍 👏🙌” on the actress’s post.

Chakda Express to highlight Jhulan Goswami’s cricketing accomplishments 

The biopic is likely to cover the senior Indian bowler’s journey coming up the ranks to play for the country. According to its IMDb page, the movie is inspired by Goswami’s accomplishments overcoming the numerous challenges she faced on the way.

The cricketer since making her debut in 2002 has represented the country in over 300 international matches across formats. She has taken a total of 345 wickets so far and is soon to be playing in her fifth World Cup come March.

The first teaser of the film which is to be helmed by director Prosit Roy had released on January 6th 2022. Notably, the movie was supposed to come out in 2021 but was put on hold owing to the ongoing pandemic. Anushka Sharma, who was supposed to play Goswami when the script was in its inception stage, had reportedly opted out of the film earlier. However, she has since returned with her playing the title character now finalized.

Interestingly, the actress who made her film debut in 2008, is also married to a cricketer in former Indian captain, Virat Kohli. A few recent pictures on social media also spotted the couple together at the location for the film’s preparations. Chakda Xpress is to be produced by Anushka Sharma and her brother, Karnesh Sharma, under their production company, Clean Slate Filmz.
