Ashes 2017-18: Ugly brawl in the stands sees fans thrashing one another

The first Ashes Test of the season finally got underway and it has been living up to the expectations thus far. It would be safe to say that the match situation stands in balance at the moment with both teams having their dominating moments in the game thus far. The fans at the Gabba, Brisbane are surely thrilled to bits as they witness the high action game.

Well, the thrill seems to have gone a little too overboard recently. On the second day of the match, an ugly brawl took place in one of the stands at the venue. The pictures of the fight have gone viral on the social media and the actual reason behind the fight is yet to be ascertained.

By the look of things and the photos captured, it is evident that the fight broke out in the stands where the Australian fans were sitting. The popular English fans, known as the Barmy Army, are not to be seen anywhere. Hence, it is safe to assume that they were sitting in a different stand and are all safe.

The photos also revealed that one of the men involved in the fight was trying to avoid spilling his full mug of beer. In the pictures, there is a man wearing tight blue shorts, who is seen as the most active man in the heated brawl. Meanwhile, the other fans looked on for a brief while before eventually intervening in the fight. They tried to separate out the combatants and stop the fight.

Soon, the security officials arrived at the location and took things under their control. Luckily enough, this fight is not between the English fans and the Australian fans. Now, the fans would hope to see some heated exchange with the bat and the ball on the field when the players stroll out for the action on the all-important day 3.
