History unfolded itself as Team India lifted the Asia Cup title for the seventh time on Friday. Even in the absence of Virat Kohli, they went into the tournament as the hot favourites and were expected to defend their crown. Interim skipper Rohit Sharma was brilliant throughout and the team went on to win all the games under his captaincy.

Barring the tied game against Afghanistan, the team dominated the oppositions more often than not. All the players rose up to the occasion whenever demanded and helped to make this sweet victory possible. The management has given at least one game to every player in the squad and here is how they fared:

Here is the Indian players’ rating for the Asia Cup

1. Rohit Sharma – 9.5/10

One would fall short of words to describe Rohit Sharma‘s brilliant run in the tournament. The Indian skipper grabbed the opportunity with both the hands and made the most out of it. With 317 runs in 5 games at a staggering average of 105, he was truly unbelievable. He smashed two consecutive fifties in the tournament which was followed by a century against Pakistan.

Except for one reckless dismissal against Hong Kong, he was always on the top of the bowlers. Further, his captaincy in the tournament deserves a special mention. He kept his cool whenever the team was in a pressure situation, backed his bowlers and got the field placements spot-on to achieve the desired results.
