India came out victorious against Pakistan in their tournament opener of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup, played at the Dubai International Stadium on August 28 (Sunday). Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya played crucial roles in their team’s victory as the Men in Blue secured a five-wicket victory over their arch-rivals.

After the match, both Kohli and Pandya met Momin Saqib, the ‘Maaro Mujhe’ meme fame. Momin grabbed the limelight after one of his videos after Pakistan’s loss in the 2019 World Cup against India went viral on social media. The influencer congratulated both players for their excellent performance.

‘Yeh ta chalda rehnda’ – Virat Kohli consoles Saqib after Pakistan’s loss

Saqib shared two videos on his official Instagram account where he was seen talking to the Indian players in his native Punjabi language. “Aaj thoda sad hainge lekin koi ni final katthe khedange (I am a little today but no worries, we’ll play the final together),” Saqib said to Kohli to which the latter responded saying, “Yeh ta chalda rehnda, good to see you (These things happen, good to see you).”

“A great sportsman and a humble personality. The one and only @imVkohli Good to see him back in form! What a game tonight! Shall see you in the Final!” Saqib captioned the video.

In another video uploaded by him on the social media platform, Saqib was seen having a conversation with Pandya. “Congratulations on the comeback after the IPL title and you also performed really well today. Good to see you, Inshallah, we will meet in the finals,” Saqib said to Hardik.

“Good neck-to-neck game. Despite being young and with raw talent, our bowlers did an amazing job. But you batted well to take the match away from us. Bhai tera chakka nahi bhulay ga! (Will not forget your six brother),” Saqib captioned his second Instagram post.
