The first ever T20 edition of Asia Cup came to an end with India defeating hosts Bangladesh in the rain affected finals to grab their 6th Asia Cup title, the most for any team. The tournament featured 5 teams – Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and UAE. Just before the tournament, a qualifier round was played between 4 associate nations – UAE, Afghanistan, Oman and Hong Kong from which UAE made into the main round. India ended as winners defeating runners-ups Bangladesh by 9 wickets in the final. Pakistan finished 3rd with 2 wins in 4 games while Sri Lanka ended up 4th with just 1 win in their tally.
