India began the Asia Cup T20 with a big win against hosts Bangladesh after a shaky start on a greenish track. India were scoring under 6 an over at halfway stage for the loss of 3 wickets after been put into bat by Bangladesh. It was the superb 83-run knock from Rohit Sharma and a fearless cameo from Hardik Pandya which lifted India’s score to 166/6.

Tight bowling from the Indian bowlers didn’t allow the hosts to get going in the chase at any moment. Sabbir Rahman top scored with 44 for his side while Ashish Nehra picked up 3 wickets and was supported by his teammates who also held the flow of runs. Bangladesh finished with 121/8 falling 45 runs short of India’s score, which might affect their NRR and chances in the tournament later.
