Match Details

The 2nd three-day warm-up game between Australia A and India A will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The game is scheduled to start at 9:00 AM IST and will be telecast live on the Sony network and will be streamed live on the Sony LIV App

Preview

After the first game ended in a draw led by some extraordinary performances from both sides, India in particular faced issues with their openers in both innings. Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill were dismissed for a duck in the first innings while in the second innings, they put on a partnership of only 37 runs. While Shubman was finding some form, it was Shaw who’s no-show continued since the latter half of the Indian T20 league.

Rahane, Pujara and Saha were batting positives in the 1st warm-up game while Umesh Yadav & Siraj did brilliantly with the bowl. Cameron Green and Mark Sketekee were the exceptional performers for Australia A. Chances of changes in India’s batting line up are high with more players available while Australia A would be looking to continue their good performance from the 1st warm-up game. This match will be a D/N warm-up game ahead of the Adelaide D/N Test so expect some spicy cricketing action in the lights.

Weather Report

It is going to be a cloudy day at the SCG with temperatures around the 19 degrees mark. Absolutely no chances of rain with decent humidity would make up for great conditions for a 3-day red ball game.

Pitch Condition/Report

The SCG pitch in the ODIs and T20Is was a run feast and in the 3-day warm-up game, you can expect similar help for the batsmen. Against the Indian contingent, the SCG hasn’t been very kind as it’s the home team that have prevailed in the red ball game 5 times as opposed to India’s only triumph.

Top Picks

Ajinkya Rahane: The Captain of the team looked in great form as he made a steady century in the 1st innings. Jinx looked in good form in the 2nd innings too but could only manage 28 runs before he was dismissed by Steketee. Expect him to continue his form going into the second game

Mark Steketee: Taking 5 wickets against a quality side is not a small achievement and Steketee will look to repeat his heroics in the second game as well. He picked up the vital wicket of Ajinkya Rahane in the 2nd innings at a crucial moment so that will definitely boost his confidence.

Cheteshwar Pujara: The man who just keeps on batting and batting and then he bats some more! The new wall of the Indian cricket team will give the Australian bowlers a tough time when he bats ahead of the 1st D/N test at Adelaide. Expect Pujara to go big(and tirelessly long as well)
