Aussies star batsmen, Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja tied knots with their respective partners following the tour of South Africa. Taking advantage of a very short break, Finch, and Khawaja married their partners in Australia. The Australian team had a very tough time in South Africa. The Aussies managed to win only a single test which resulted in a series loss, in the four-match series.

The Australian team not only lost the series but also had to go through a lot with Skipper Smith and star opener being banned for a year following the sandpaper gate incident. However, with Finch’s and Khawaja’s marriage ceremonies, the Aussie players finally have something to cheer for.

Finch and Maxwell to miss their IPL season opener:

Star opening batsman, Aaron Finch, who had planned his wedding during the weekend under the impression the Indian Premier League season would a week later, wedded Amy Griffiths at a beautiful venue in nation Victoria. Finch who was bought by the Kings XI Punjab franchise will be missing the season opener due to his wedding. The Punjab franchise spent a  whopping 6.2 crore on Finch.

On the other hand, Finch’s teammate and close friend, Glen Maxwell will also miss Delhi Daredevils‘ season opener on the 8th of April. Kings XI Punjab will be clashing against Delhi Daredevils on Sunday at 4 PM IST. Delhi spent a massive 9 crore for Maxwell’s services.

Most of Finch’s were in participation at the occasion, held at Willow and Stone Estate around 90 minutes drive from Melbourne. George Bailey, Mitch Marsh, Hastings, James Faulkner, Peter Siddle and New Zealand opener Martin Guptill were amongst the other guests who attended the right-handed batsman’s wedding. Hastings and Marsh were spotted hoisting the new couple on their shoulders.

The wedding took place in Queensland. Ben Cutting was the groomsman while Test opener Matthew Renshaw and Queensland Bulls’ allrounder Michael Neser attended the ceremony. Ben Cutting also had to miss the IPL season opener due to this wedding. He missed the match in which his team – Mumbai Indians lost to Chennai Super Kings in a high profile drama game.

However, Maxwell, Finch, and Cuttings will be on their way to India as soon as possible. Delhi will play their second game on the 13th and Maxwell will surely be able to make it with more than 5 days for the game. Earlier, the IPL was scheduled to start from 15th April but was preponed to 7th.
