Team Australia might be under severe pressure following their consecutive ODI defeats against India, but an upbeat atmosphere prevailed in their practice session ahead of the upcoming 4th ODI. While India have taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series, the Australian players will be looking to salvage some pride in the remaining games. In a video posted on social media platform Instagram, the Steve Smith-led side was seen enjoying their practice routine with a funky, new activity.

Although there have been several stellar performances by some members of the Australian team, including the superb century by Aaron Finch at Indore in the 3rd ODI, Australia have been unable to churn a victory out of their efforts. The 4th ODI is scheduled to be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on September 28 (Thursday). On one hand, India will look to win the remaining 2 matches of the series and establish their dominance as the No.1 ODI team, Australia will be attempting to convert the positives in their performances to a much-needed win.

Australian Team enjoy the practice session

In what seemed like an entirely new practice regime, all the Australian players were captured huddled up on the field in the video posted. Each member of the team was seen taking a shot at rolling a large-sized dice with the rest of the team cheering at the outcome. The team looked enthused and the activity is being considered by many as a stress-busting technique for a unit that has been under sever scrutiny and pressure for quite some time now. A loud roar by the team members was especially captured on the footage when the game began and again when Glenn Maxwell took his turn at rolling the dice.

Rain threats have been looming large over the upcoming ODI encounter between India and Australia at Bangalore. However, if the game is held without any disruptions, assistant curator Prashanth Rao of the Chinnaswamy Stadium has promised a “decent” wicket for the game. Speaking about the pitch conditions, Rao said to the Sportstar, “I won’t say it will be full of runs but it will be a decent ODI pitch. It should make for an evenly-poised game. During the IPL, although the pitch was on the slower side, teams had no complaints and we got to see good contests.”
