Tymal Mills surprised everyone with his impeccable bowling during the India vs England T20 internationals. There was a huge talk about him and about his unusual action and his not-easy-to-pick slower delivery. Mills did very well during his India tour and that caught the eye of the scouts. He was on the list of many franchises but Bangalore were the keenest.

It is much of a football thing when a player is bought for millions he has to play with the burden of all those millions but it seldom happens in cricket. However, IPL is one such tournament where it happens and when the player doesn’t live up to it then it is one of the worst experience the player has to face.

Tymal Mills was snapped up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping INR 12 crores making him the most expensive bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League. The good thing about this is that Tymal is aware of the same and knows he has a lot to give back in terms of performances.

While talking to ESPNcricinfo, the English fast bowler sounded fairly positive. He said that he knows what people expect from him and said that however, that may have a negative effect on his performance. That said, he will just go out and perform as he has done before and do what has brought him this far.

He said: “With the price tag I’ve been bought for, there will be a level of expectation and I’m aware of that, but I’m just going to go out there and do what I’ve done and do what has got me this far.”

Mills has come a long way, he had suffered a brutal injury to his back in 2015 which almost made him give up on cricket but he kept on going. Tymal however, does not play the longest format of the game and the selectors have ignored him for the 50 over format as well. He has only played in the shortest format of the game and that has made him a specialist in it.

He is one of those rare bowlers who can bowl 145 km/h plus but when time comes can bowl a beautiful back of the hand slower delivery which fools the batter more times than not. It will be interesting to see how Tymal’s IPL season goes about as he is gearing up for the opening clash against the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad on 6th April.
