BAN vs PAK: Hasan Ali warned for using saliva to shine the ball

The current rules state that a player is not supposed to use his saliva to shine the ball. However, during the 8th over of the Bangladesh second innings, Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali used saliva to shine the red cherry.

And, Ali was warned for the same. The umpire also went and spoke to Hasan Ali regarding the issue, and Pakistan’s bowling coach Vernon Philander also had a chat with Ali as well. “Hasan Ali has been given a warning by the umpire and Vernon Philander is talking to him right now,” read a tweet.

First Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan hangs in the balance

The first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan is hanging in the balance. Batting first, Bangladesh posted a competitive total of 330 on the board, with Liton Das scoring a superb 114. Hasan Ali scalped 5 wickets with the red cherry in hand in the first essay.

Pakistan replied with a total of 286. In fact, the Pakistan side was coasting at 146/0, but collapsed in sensational fashion, losing 10 wickets for the addition of just 140 runs. Opener Abid Ali held fort for the Babar Azam led side and scored a classic 133 off 282 deliveries.

Taijul Islam was unplayable with the ball. The left-arm spinner scalped a 7-wicket haul, and gave away 116 runs in a marathon 44.4 over spell. Apart from Islam, Ebadot Hossain also picked up a couple of wickets as well.

In the second innings, Bangladesh have already lost 4 wickets for the addition of just 38 runs and currently lead their opposition by 82 runs. While Shaheen Afridi has scalped 3 wickets, Hasan Ali has picked up a solitary scalp. The match is poised for an interesting finish.
