Bangladesh managed to dominate the Dhaka leg of their ODI series against the West Indies in the three-match series. Tamim Iqbal, in his maiden assignment as the Tigers’ skipper, showed excellent results, helping his team take an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Though their batsmen had to be circumspect on spin-friendly pitches at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, their bowlers showed a lot of maturity. The third and final ODI is scheduled to be played on Monday, January 25 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
The Caribbean team, on the other hand, didn’t come with an experienced team and despite display guts, they have fallen short of firepower. With most odds against them, Jason Mohammed and Co would be looking to evade a humiliating series whitewash.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch in Chattogram, historically, hasn’t been a decent one for batting by any means. The average score at the venue is a tad over 200 and a high-scoring game doesn’t seem to be in the offing.
The track is expected to get slower, but Bangladesh won’t mind chasing as they did in the first two games. The conditions will be sunny with the temperature around the 23 degrees Celsius mark.

Players to watch out for in BAN vs WI
Tamim Iqbal- Bangladesh
Even as the story has mostly been about how the Bangladesh bowling has been, Tamim Iqbal, their captain, has displayed a great amount of patience and resilience in tough conditions.
Though he missed out on a half-century in the first game, he made amends in the second. The veteran scored 50 runs before getting out. The left-hander would be looking for another substantial knock to end the series.
Akeal Hosein- West Indies
Akeal Hosein has been the standout player for the West Indies in the ODI series. He hasn’t done much wrong with the ball in hand. He is the visitors’ leading wicket-taker with four scalps.
His economy rate of 3.67 isn’t on the higher side either. Having already taken some crucial wickets, the left-armer would be looking for another decent show. The Tigers need to be patient against him.
