Bangladesh A set to tour India in September: Today, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Bangladesh A’s tour of India which is scheduled to be played in September. The tour will consist of three One-Day matches against India A which will be followed by two 3-day games. The 3 limited overs matches will be played in Bangalore on September 18, 20 and 22 respectively.
In the 3-day matches, the Bangladesh A side will take on the Ranji champions Karnataka and then the Indian A side. The first 3-day match will be played between September 22 and 24 at Mysore. While the last match of the tour will be played between September 27 and 29 in which the visitors will face-off the Indian A side.
The Bangladesh A side will tour South Africa and Zimbabwe after the completion of the Indian tour. It is notable that the Bangladesh A side had earlier toured India in 2001, 2009 and 2012 respectively. While their senior side is yet to play a Test series in India.
Bangladesh is expected to play India in their den in August next year. This year the Bangladeshi team is soaring high on success in limited over cricket. First, they reached the Quarter-final stage of the World Cup 2015 and then defeated strong teams like Pakistan, India and South Africa at home in bilateral ODI series.
But they are yet to do something significant in the whites and this tour will aid them with experience of playing the longer version of the game in the Indian conditions which will be very helpful for them when their senior team tours India.
