Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 30-man preliminary squad for the Test series against England. Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny have been included in the squad, who were banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for suspect bowling action during the ICC World Twenty20 in India earlier this year.
Taskin and Arafat have to get their reworked action cleared by the ICC, to feature in the series, which comprises of two Test matches and 3 One Day Internationals (ODIs). Uncapped player Kamrul Islam Rabbi is included in the squad, along with Muktar Ali and Mosaddek Hossain, who have represented Bangladesh in only Twenty20 Internationals.
Suhrawadi Shuvo, who was hospitalized after being hit on the head two weeks before, is also named in the squad. Shuvo was hit on the head while he was trying to duck under a rising delivery from his countryman Taskin Ahmed during the Dhaka Premier League match between Victoria Sporting Club and Abahani Limited at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
The players will gather at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on July 20 for a camp. The series will commence from October 7.
