A serious allegation has been made against Bangladesh Cricket Board where a team from lower division altered the outcome of the match with the help of digital manipulation. The unfortunate controversy occurred in the matchup between Kathal Bagan Green Crescent Club and North Bengal Cricket Academy at Jahangir Nagar University in Savar on Tuesday.

Kathal Bagan faces relegation into the 3rd tier of the league, first time in 28 years after their entry into the domestic circuit. Despite given seven leg before wicket dismissals during Kathal Bagan’s innings, the scorecard did not reflect the outcome. The club manager alleged the manipulations were done in order to create an impression that the match was evenly contested.

Aby Nechim, seemed appalled by the recent events, he went on to state that, ‘We are lost for words, don’t know what to say about it. There could be some mistakes in the digital scorecard. But we amended that,” Nechin was quoted as saying by New Age Bangladesh.

According to the match official, Habibullah, as many as five dismissals were that of a leg before. But according to New Age’s screenshots of the scorecard taken at different times, the number decreased from six to five to four.

Having said that, this is not an exclusive case of digital manipulation in Bangladesh Cricket. BCB umpires committee in-charge Ovi Abdullah al-Noman stated that there was no complaint regarding the matter and will take a call on the issue as and when it arrives. ‘We have not received any official complaint yet. When there will be complaint we will definitely look into the matter,’ said Noman

Even BCB’s umpires committee’s member’s secretary Sailab Hossain has not been intimated about the issue. Even Hossain expressed his shock regarding the issue, “It is unthinkable to see three different scorecards of the same game. We have not received any complaint. If we get the complaint we will look into the matter” he said.
