As the extravaganza of BBL 2019-20 advances into its latter stages, Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat lock horns in Match 32 of the competition. Perth Scorchers have had a substandard campaign so far this season as they have managed to gather only six points from their seven matches. Scorchers are currently sitting sixth in the bottom half of the points table. In their previous match against Melbourne Renegades, Scorchers successfully chased down a competitive total of 175 runs.

The opening duo of Inglis and Livingstone stitched a 102-run partnership for the opening wicket to make things easier for Scorchers. Skipper Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Bancroft also played cameos to propel Scorchers to the target with an over to spare. Mitchell Marsh and Co will be eager to grab another win in their BBL 2019-20 campaign.

Brisbane Heat have registered four wins so far in their seven matches of the tournament. Equipped with a strong batting force, Chris Lynn and his troops are currently sitting third in the points table. In their previous match against Hobart Hurricanes, Heat cruised to a comfortable five-wicket win on the back of some impressive individual performances. Ben Cutting, who smashed 43 runs and scalped a wicket, showcased brilliant all-round performance to steer Heat to the win. Brisbane Heat have the chance to move closer to the second spot by registering a win in this encounter.

Pitch and Conditions

Melbourne Cricket Ground has hosted two matches so far in the season and 140+ scores have been recorded in all four innings. Chances of rain to intervene in the match are very dim and the temperature is expected to hover around 18 degrees Celcius, according to Accuweather. High levels of humidity are also on the cards.

Team Combination

Perth Scorchers

Josh Inglish and Liam Livingstone delivered impressive performances with the bat in Scorchers’ last match. Both the openers smashed half-centuries to steer Scorchers to the victory. Scorchers also have Cameron Bancroft- who can play explosive knock- in their batting arsenal. Skipper Mitchell Marsh is also expected to play a vital role in both the departments. However, they will miss the services of Ashton Agar, who is out on international duty.

Predicted XI: Liam Livingstone, Josh Inglis (wk), Cameron Bancroft, Mitchell Marsh (C), Cameron Green, Chris Jordan, Tim David, Liam Guthrie/Joel Paris, Jhye Richardson, Matthew Kelly, Fawad Ahmed

Brisbane Heat

Brisbane Heat is equipped with many explosive batsmen in their batting line-up. Tom Banton and Chris Lynn will be aiming to propel Heat to a flying start. Matt Renshaw has also delivered notable performances this season. However, all eyes will be on Ben Cutting, who stole the limelight with his all-round performance in the previous match. Moreover, James Pattinson has also been included in the 13-man squad to bolster Heat’s bowling force.

Predicted XI: Chris Lynn (c), Tom Banton, Max Bryant Ben Cutting, Joe Burns, Josh Lalor, Jimmy Peirson (wk), Matt Renshaw, Mitchell Swepson, Zahir Khan, Ben Laughlin/James Pattinson
