After a big defeat against Sydney Sixers, the Perth Scorchers bounced back with a convincing 11-run win against the Melbourne Renegades in their first home match. Cameron Bancroft gave a good start for the Scorchers with a 37-ball 51 before skipper Mitchell Marsh produced a quick-fire inning.

Marsh smashed an unbeaten 56 from only 22 balls with six maximums to power the hosts to 196/7. Renegades lost early wickets in the chase before Shaun Marsh (55 off 38) and Beau Webster (67* off 37) struck fifties. The duo added 92 runs for the 4th wicket in only 53 deliveries but was not enough to guide the visitors to a win.

9-2 – Perth Scorchers have won nine of the 11 BBL matches they played against Melbourne Renegades. Scorchers won each of their first eight BBL meetings against Renegades before losing the both during the 2018-19 edition.

196/7 – Perth Scorchers’ total of 196/7 in this match is their 3rd highest total in the BBL. They posted 203/7 in the 2013-14 season and 197/7 in the 2016-17 edition; both against the Adelaide Strikers.

Ashton Turner completes 1000 runs

1003 – Ashton Turner became the 29th player to aggregate 1000 runs in the Big Bash League. He is only the 3rd player to cross 1000 BBL runs for the Perth Scorchers. Shaun Marsh (1435) and Michael Klinger (1284) are the other two players with 1000+ BBL runs for the Scorchers.


Liam Livingstone completes 2000 runs

2011 – Liam Livingstone completed 2000 runs in the Twenty20 format when he went past his individual score of 18. Livingstone aggregated 2011 runs from 87 T20s at an average of 26.46 and at a strike rate of 139.45.
