Perth Scorchers’ streak of five consecutive wins in BBL 2020-21 came to an end on Saturday when they faced Sydney Sixers at the Manuka Oval. Scorchers, who batted first, raced to 53 in only four overs and were strongly placed at 103/1 after 10 overs as Liam Livingstone smashed a 38-ball 67. His dismissal after the Time-out turned the game away from Scorchers who ended with 163/7 in 20 overs. The target was pretty low for the Sixers with Josh Philippe smashing 52-ball 84 while James Vince making 52 off 35 balls.

Here are all the statistical highlights from Sydney Sixers’ 7-wicket win during the SIX vs SCO game:

A rare win for the Sixers overs Scorchers:

7/18 – The SIX vs SCO game is only the 7th instance of Sydney Sixers defeating Perth Scorchers in the BBL out of the 18 meetings. These are the 2nd fewest number of wins for the Sixers against any opponent with the fewest coming against Hobart Hurricanes (5/13).

Philippe’s record knock:

10 – Josh Philippe has smashed ten fifties in the BBL; all while representing the Sydney Sixers. These are now the joint-most fifties by any player for the Sixers alongside Daniel Hughes (10).

5 – Philippe has made five out of the ten scores of 80+ runs in the BBL recorded for the Sydney Sixers. Daniel Hughes and Nic Maddinson have two such knocks apiece while Michael Lumb also made 80+ once for the Sixers.

Philippe is also one of the six players in the BBL with five or more scores of 80+ runs. Chris Lynn and Marcus Stoinis lead the list with 9 and 6 such scores respectively while Glenn Maxwell, Michael Klinger, and D’Arcy Short also have five 80+ BBL scores apiece.

84 – Josh Philippe’s 84-run knock during SIX vs SCO game is now the highest individual score for the Sixers in a BBL game against the Scorchers. Philippe went past his own record which he created with an unbeaten 81 during the 2019-20 season.

Yet another big season for Philippe:

421 – Josh Philippe now has scored 421 runs in the BBL 2020-21; the 2nd most runs in a single season of BBL for the Sixers behind his own tally of 487 runs in the previous edition. No player other than Philippe has scored 400+ runs in a single edition of the BBL for the Sydney Sixers.

Philippe is now only the 4th player to amass 400+ runs in multiple Big Bash League editions. D’Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis and Shaun Marsh are the other players with 400+ runs in two BBL seasons.

Richardson amongst wickets yet again:

19 – Jhye Richardson has picked up a total of 19 wickets in the BBL 2020-21 which are the most by any player in an edition of BBL for the Perth Scorchers. The previous most wickets picked by a bowler for the Scorchers in a BBL season was 17 by Andrew Tye in 2018-19. Richardson has played 10 matches in the ongoing edition and has picked at least one wicket in nine of them.

Hughes’ captaincy record:

76.92 – Daniel Hughes has a win percentage of 76.92 in the BBL as a captain having won ten of the 13 games where he was the skipper of the team. No BBL captain with 10+ wins other than Hughes has a win % over 70.
