Brisbane Heat moved into the top four in the points table following their victory over the Melbourne Renegades on Saturday. Chris Lynn’s 30-ball 52 gave a perfect start for the Brisbane team but slowed down in the middle overs. But Marnus Labuschagne’s 49 off 31 balls helped the visitors to finish on 173/5. Renegades’ chase was on track until the 11th over as Sam Harper struck a 32-ball 57. However, a routine Renegades’ collapse saw them losing their last 8 wickets for only 56 runs and bundle out for 147.

Here are all the statistical highlights from Brisbane Heat’s 26-run win against the REN vs HEA game:

Brisbane’s double against Renegades:

1 – The 2020-21 BBL is the first instance of Brisbane Heat defeating Melbourne Renegades twice in the same edition of the league. Before the start of the season, the Brisbane team managed to win only three of their 13 meetings against the Renegades in the BBL.

2013 – Three of Brisbane Heat’s five wins against Melbourne Renegades in the BBL came at the Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium but the Saturday’s win was the first for Brisbane franchise here since the 2012-13 season. Heat lost as many as five matches they played at the Docklands between these two wins including one against the Perth Scorchers earlier on Tuesday.

Steketee’s records with the ball:

22 – The 22 wickets by Mark Steketee in the BBL 2020-21 are the most by any player for the Brisbane Heat in a single edition of Big Bash League. Steketee went past Josh Lalor’s tally of 20 scalps in the 2018-19 season with his 3-wicket haul during REN vs HEA game.

64 – The three wickets during the REN vs HEA game helped Mark Steketee to become the leading wicket-taker in the BBL history for the Brisbane Heat. Steketee now has 64 BBL wickets for the Brisbane franchise by which he went past Ben Cutting’s tally of 63 wickets.

Lynn @ 200 fours:

204 – The first of the five fours by Chris Lynn during the REN vs HEA game was the 200th boundary four by Lynn in the BBL. He is now only the 2nd player after Aaron Finch (224) to hit 200 fours in the history of Big Bash League.

Yet another fifty for Lynn:

23 – Chris Lynn now has 23 fifty-plus scores (22 fifties, 1 century) in the Big Bash League; three more than any other player in this league. Lynn’s fifty on Saturday was his 3rd against the Melbourne Renegades which is now the 5th time against which he has 3 or more fifty-plus scores in the BBL – Thunder (6), Scorchers (5), Hurricanes (4) and Sixers (3).

4 – Lynn’s fifty during the REN vs HEA game is now his 4th half-century of the BBL 2020-21. These are now the joint-most fifty-plus scores in an edition of BBL for the Brisbane Heat as Lynn himself had four each in 2015-16 and 2018-19 while Brendon McCullum also hit four fifties in 2018-19.
