President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Nazmul Hassan Papon has said that they will announce a spin bowling coach after the next board meeting. He said that the board has several options to choose from, that’s why they are taking their time so they can take the right decision.

First choice options not available right now.

Nazmul Hassan said that the first-choice options are not available as they have some prior commitments for next few months. “Options are being widened. We kept those first in our list, some of whom were no time for the next two-three months. So, we are in tethers what to do,” he was quoted by the bdcrictime.

BCB president further said that the board might decide to pick someone from the available options rather than waiting for the first-choice options to be available. He said that the meeting will be called this month and hoped they can finalise the spin-bowling coach.

“Will we wait for the two-three months or will we go for the next three or four or five options, who are available now. Even I got a new proposal yesterday. So, we’ll call a board meeting in this month. Hopefully, we could take a decision in that meeting about the spin coach,” he added.

Offering extension to selectors

The BCB president was further asked if they are willing to give an extension to the national selectors. To this question, he replied that performance of the selectors will be evaluated before taking a call.

“Performance will be evaluated first. Then they will go for the next procedure will we renew the contract with the existing selectors or appoint new ones. But we’ll settle it in the next board meeting,” Papon informed.

He further said that BCB elections will be held in due time but admitted that it depends on the court’s verdict.
