BCCI appoints a new five-member All-India Junior Selection Committee

This committee will be headed by Sharath Sridharan, who is a former Tamil Nadu player.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has constituted an All-India Junior Selection Committee. This will be a five-member committee and will be headed by Sharath Sridharan, who is a former Tamil Nadu player.

Apart from Sridharan, the other members who will be a part of the committee are Harvinder Singh Sodhi, Pathik Patel, Ranadeb Bose, and Kishan Mohan. While Sharath Sridharan will be in charge of the South Zone, Kishan Mohan will take care of the North Zone.

Harvinder Singh Sodhi and Pathik Patel have been elected from the Central and West Zones, while Ranadeb Bose has been elected from the East Zone. The BCCI also announced the same on Twitter as well.

More information about the members of the All India Junior Selection Committee

Now, what are the credentials of the members of the All-India Junior Selection Committee? Sharath Sridharan, who is the head of the committee, has played 139 first-class matches and 116 List A matches as well. While he scored 8700 runs at the first-class level, he plundered 3366 runs in List A Cricket. He has also scored 27 centuries and 42 half-centuries in first-class cricket as well.

Harvinder Singh Sodhi has scalped 174 wickets in first-class cricket and has picked up 65 wickets in List A Cricket. He has also scored 2072 runs with the willow in first-class cricket as well. Pathik Patel is a wicketkeeper, who has featured in 32 first-class matches. The right-handed batsman scored 1062 runs in first-class cricket.

Ranadeb Bose is a right-arm pace bowler, who has picked up 317 wickets in 91 first class matches. He has also prized out 126 willow wielders in List A Cricket as well. Bose scalped a stunning 24 five-wicket hauls in first-class cricket. Kishan Mohan, was an all-rounder who represented the Punjab side.
