BCCI awards Paytm title sponsorship for the India - West Indies T20I series

The title sponsorship rights for the upcoming two T20 International (T20I) matches between India and West Indies to be played in Florida has been awarded to Paytm, The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) announced on Thursday.

“We are delighted to extend our association with Paytm. This will further strengthen partnership with our existing partner and is a testimony to the fact that our partners believe in BCCI’s initiative of reaching out to newer audiences and markets, BCCI President Anurag Thakur said while announcing the decision.

BCCI Secretary Ajay Shirke added: “We have always respected our relationship with existing partners. This announcement of Paytm coming onboard reflects the strong bond we share with our partners. We are pleased to extend our association with them.”

India and West Indies are scheduled to play two T20 matches on consecutive days this weekend (August 27 and 28) at the Central Broward Regional Park, Lauderdale, USA. This will be historic for India as they will be playing an international match in the USA for the first time.

West Indies has already visited the country in the past and has played a couple of matches at Lauderhill winning on both occasions. The current T20 World Champions will be looking forward to maintain the unbeaten record at the venue.

The return of the likes of T20 superstars Chris Gayle, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine will add spice to the contest. On the other hand, India has been bolstered y the return of his captain charismatic MS Dhoni and other couple of T20 specialists. They will enter the T20 series high on confidence after winning the four-match Test series against 2-0.
