Australia are set to visit India in less than three weeks now and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not released an itinerary yet. The venues were only decided for the five ODIs but it was not declared officially. Now it is being reported that Indore might host the third ODI instead of the originally scheduled as fifth ODI.

The ODIs to be hosted by Nagpur and Indore might get swapped. The reason for not releasing the itinerary is still not clear from the BCCI. Earlier the board had only decided that Chennai (September 17), Kolkata (September 21), Nagpur (September 24), Bengaluru (September 28) and Indore (October 1) will be the five venues. The host associations were sent the emails to that effect. But now BCCI is willing to swap the Nagpur and Indore ODIs as the latter is having some logistical problems. The BCCI has again made no announcement. Only the associations concerned have been informally told.

Associations yet to hear from BCCI formally

“BCCI CEO Rahul Johri got in touch and informed that we will host the fifth match instead of the third because Indore has problems. We have been informally told that we will host the match on October 1 instead of September 24,” a Vidarbha Cricket Association official said. He added that they are still to receive an official mail.

Earlier, the Kolkata and Bengaluru matches were swapped and now the same news for other venues has perplexed the spectators as well. Normally the itinerary is announced well before the series but BCCI seems to be struggling with this series as they have not made anything official. There are also reports that Johri or BCCI General Manager MV Sridhar could not be contacted.

Australia are scheduled to play 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is on their tour to India which will start from the fourth week of September tentatively.
