One of the most celebrated batsmen of India, Yuvraj Singh, celebrated his 39th birthday today. Messages poured in from all corners of the world to wish the power hitter the best of things in his life ahead. Former swashbuckling batter donned the Indian jersey on 402 international matches while getting a total of 11,778 runs in his account. His sparkling career saw 17 tons and 71 half-centuries as he led the team over the line on several days.

Yuvraj was one of the key members of Indian cricket’s golden era under the reign of MS Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly. Though Ganguly led Indian side couldn’t clinch the 2003 World Cup, Singh turned head with his stellar performances in both 2007 T20 and 2011 World Cup at home. Having an illustrious career on his name and millions of fans across the globe, several big names from cricket posted birthday wishes for him.

Yuvraj has always been an active person on social media. He keeps stating his opinions and views on social matters happening around the world. He is an expert figure while taking a dig at fellow teammates’ posts and pictures. His funny statements and comments catch too much attention in the social media world. In the recent turn of events, he even stated his stance on his father’s controversial statements over ongoing farmer protests in the country.

“I am saddened and upset by the statements made by Mr. Yograj Singh. I wish to clarify that his remarks have been made in an individual capacity, and my ideologies are not the same in any manner. I also urge everyone to continue taking precautions to fight against Covid-19. The pandemic is not over yet, and we need to continue to be careful to defeat the virus completely.”

Yuvraj Singh is fondly remembered for his never-dying spirit that he displayed while playing the 2011 World Cup for India. He was puking blood and still stood bold enough to play for India like a hero. He was later diagnosed with cancer and went abroad for his treatment.
