The Indian cricket team is all set to resume its international duties with an Australia tour comprising a three-match ODI and T20I series followed by a four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy. The tour begins from November 27 in Sydney, thus, the Indian squad is completing its 14-day mandatory quarantine period in a hotel room in Sydney.

Meanwhile, the Indian players have also been training in the nets while being in the quarantine as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had attained special permissions from Cricket Australia (CA) regarding the same. On November 24, Tuesday, India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane had apparently gotten a day off from the training.

However, the batsman was in no mood of taking rest as he started practicing in his hotel room. Rahane took to his official Instagram handle to share a video of himself doing batting practice in the hotel room.

Rahane captioned the picture as, “Off day from the nets means I find other ways to keep batting. Can’t stay away from my bat for too long. Sorry neighbours,”

Shikhar Dhawan makes a hilarious comment on Ajinkya Rahane’s post

India’s opening batsman in limited-overs format Shikhar Dhawan, who is known for his wit and humour on social media, advised Ajinkya in the comment section to spend time with daughter and feed her in the hotel room instead of doing practice. Dhawan also revealed that the middle-order batsman had scored a half-century in one of the intrasquad matches and doesn’t require more practice.

Dhawan commented, “Bhai maan gaye ek din pahle practice match khela tha. Usme tune 50 mare, yeh prac se kya fayda?? Beti ko khila room pe bhai,” (We all know you are in good form after seeing your half-century in the day before. Then what’s the purpose of this practice? Instead, feed your daughter in the room.)

Notably, both Shikhar and Ajinkya were last seen playing for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the just concluded 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The opening batsman, Dhawan was in terrific form with the willow as he collected 618 runs in 17 games and played an instrumental role in taking his team to the final of the league.

Rahane, on the other hand, had a lukewarm season as he could score just 113 runs in 9 games. Delhi failed to lift their maiden IPL trophy as they registered a defeat against Mumbai Indians in the final.
