Bhuvneshwar Kumar shares his feeling of dismissing Sachin Tendulkar for a duck

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is regarded as one of the most proficient in the current set of fast bowlers. His ability to move the ball both ways has led to the dismissal of several batsmen. He is currently a fulcrum of the Indian team in all three formats of the sport. He made his debut in 2012 versus Pakistan and has churned out many match-winning spells for his team ever since.

Prior to that, he had his most cherishing moment in the domestic cricket back in the 2008-09 season. He became the first bowler to dismiss Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in a Ranji Trophy match when Uttar Pradesh locked horns with Mumbai. Bhuvi was left blank when he first met Sachin inside the lift of a team hotel.

“I came out of the room and there was a noise of someone locking the door when I turned back it was Sachin Tendulkar… Then I went with him inside the lift, kept staring at him, was left blank, he wished me luck before the match,” Bhuvneshwar was quoted as saying in a chat show named ‘Breakfast with Champions’, hosted by Gaurav Kapur.

He also credited fast bowler Ishant Sharma for helping him out during the early phase of his international career, “Credit goes to Ishant Sharma, when I came to the team, I did not use to speak to someone, had hesitation, was reserve type. If something important use to happen I used to tell him,” the 28-year-old added.

The bowler recently played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). During the tournament, he suffered from a sore back and missed quite a few matches in the tournament. His next assignment is the ODI and T20I series when India tour England in the month of July.
