Team India’s go-to bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, got married to Nupur Nagar on Thursday at Meerut. The 27-year-old took some time off from the ongoing Sri Lanka Test series and announced his wedding plans to all the fans in a video posted by fellow team-mate Shikhar Dhawan last week.
Kumar’s marriage celebrations had started days back and some videos of his mehendi ceremony were also released by his fan clubs on social media. The right-arm bowler cleared the air about him getting hitched after he shared pictures of the engagement ceremony that took place in Greater Noida on October 24. In the caption of the picture, he said, “Rewinding and going back to the happy memories, inspires me to the fast forward and dream about the amazing future that lies ahead.”
Nupur Nagar, reportedly, is a childhood friend of his and he revealed that he was seeing her on October 3 by posting a picture that read, “Here’s the better half of the picture.” There were a lot of speculations about who the girl was when he had posted this picture with half of it cropped out earlier where he had assured that fans would get a full picture soon. He made the revelation 5 months later.
Bhuvneshwar‘s wedding reception is expected to be held in Bulandshahar on November 27 and on November 30 in New Delhi.

Bhuvi is now one of the very few players who play all three formats of the game and is considered one of the best death bowlers in India, grabbed four wickets each in the two innings of the first Test against Sri Lanka and was named man-of-the-match for bowling India to the brink of victory. Since he will not be able to take further part in the series, Tamil Nadu all-rounder Vijay Shankar is named as his replacement.
