Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty wishes Jonty Rhodes on his 49th birthday

Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes is celebrating his 49th birthday today and many of the former, as well as the present cricketers, sent across greeting on the special day. Veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty also wished the former Protean cricketer with a beautiful message on Twitter. Suniel is known to be quite a great and keen admirer of the sport. The Bollywood star supports his teams and franchises from the stands as well and was also spotted at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium last year, during the first edition of the T10 League.

Along with watching and following the game of cricket, Suniel is also quite familiar with some of the cricketing legends. While counting on the greatest players of the game, nobody can forget the name of Jonty Rhodes. The former cricketer is renowned for possessing the most acrobatic and phenomenal fielding skills that the cricketing world has ever witnessed. During his early playing days, Jonty was once awarded the Man of the Match award for his fielding in a game, despite being part of that match as a substitute fielder.

“A very happy birthday @JontyRhodes8 Wish you another year full of life! Stay blessed always” wrote Suniel on his Twitter handle wishing Rhodes on his birthday.

Jonty replied to Shetty’s post with an obliging tweet

In reply to the warm greetings on his birthday, Jonty thanked the Bollywood actor for his lovely message and reckoned that he is a very inspiring personality. The former cricketer also mentioned in his tweet that he is hoping to meet Suniel very soon.

“Thank u brother for the inspiration, hoping to see u soon @SunielVShetty” wrote Jonty.

Rhodes played 52 Tests, 245 ODIs for South Africa in which he scored 2532 and 5935 runs respectively. He last played in national colours in 2003 against Kenya during the 50-overs World Cup, before announcing his retirement from professional cricket.
