Bollywood celebrities congratulate AB de Villiers on a stellar International career

AB de Villiers dropped a bombshell on his fans and his teammates by announcing his retirement from International cricket on Wednesday. The way he was batting on his comeback during the series against Australia and India, very few saw it coming. While the social media is flooded with the wishes for him from all corners of the cricketing fraternity, even the Bollywood celebrities are disappointed with the fact that the ace cricketer will not be seen on the cricketing field again in Green and Gold and have wished him a happy retirement life.

It is no secret that De Villiers was loved in India more than his own country. The scenes of Wankhede Stadium chanting his name back in 2015 when he had torn apart the Indian bowling with a belligerent inning are still fresh in the memories of everyone. Even when he plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the fans go into a frenzy while watching his batting.

Excellent IPL season

He had a wonderful season this year and won many matches for his team single-handedly. Moreover, his exceptional catch to dismiss Alex Hales at the Chinnaswamy Stadium is being rated one of the best in the history of the tournament. He has left everyone perplexed with his decision to hang his boots with the World Cup looming next year which he had dreamt of winning. Unfortunately, the best cricketer of this generation will never be able to lay his hands on the trophy now if South Africa even wins it in the future.

Much like the fans and the current and former cricketers around the world, the Bollywood celebrities were left stunned after they were made aware of his retirement. While it was natural of everyone going in a state of shock, it was also the time to applaud the cricketer for his contribution to the game. Sadly, the cricketing world will never witness yet another AB de Villiers again.
