In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) betting case, actor and filmmaker Arbaaz Khan was summoned by the cops for his alleged involvement in betting. Sonu Jalal, the bookie who exposed the details has made another claim stating that a Test match in 2016 between two ICC nations played in the sub-continent was fixed. He also told the cops that his punters were behind this fixing. The exact details and nature of the incident is yet to be confirmed as the Police are probing the case.

Thane Police investigating the matter

Arbaaz Khan was asked to appear before the Anti Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Thane Police for his alleged link in IPL betting scandal. The value of which is estimated to be around 500-600 crores and links to some top placed bookmakers all over India. In the preliminary, report it was also claimed that the bookies had links with the underworld and extended to the D company.

The police sources claim that Arbaaz and Sonu were in contact and the bookie helped the actor in placing bets on IPL games. The bookie has placed any allegations against Arbaaz and with regards to the money he owes him but none of it has been confirmed yet. The Thane Police will arrive at conclusion only after questioning the filmmaker.

The AEC made another big revelation a few days back stating that a match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) was also fixed, and during this match, one of the Bollywood actors reached and met Sonu Jalan.

The entire scandal comes to light around the same time Al Jazeera released a documentary claiming bookies in India had fixed quite a few matches in the sub-continent. In a sting operation, it alleged that England and Australia’s Test matches on the tour of India were fixed and some top players were involved. The ICC has also got involved and has asked for all the footage that they have so that their Anti-Corruption Unit can investigate the matter.
