The ICC World Cup 2019 will be played from May 30 in England and Wales and the defending and five-time champions Australia will be looking forward to the challenge of facing all the other nine teams in the round robin format. A World Cup year means new look uniforms being unveiled by the teams as well.

India have already unveiled its new look jersey ahead of the Australia ODI series at home and now the Australian team has done the same as well. The Aaron Finch- led side will be donning a new look that has been inspired by the many retro Australia team jerseys and pays homage to the 80s and 90s era by mixing the modern pattern with the style of the old.

Australia’s new kit designed by Asics

Apparel manufacturing company Asics has designed the new look Australia jersey for the World Cup and it was unveiled by Glenn Maxwell, who had made his World Cup debut in the Kangaroo’s 2015 title win. The uniform is largely yellow, with a lime green collar, shoulders, and sides of the shirt, while a thin green streak runs down the sides of the pants. The kit color system is not disparate to the uniforms worn by Australia in this year’s ODI Series against India on home soil.

Next summer too, the Australia team will wear retro uniforms which were chosen by fans and will see a pattern similar to the 1999 World Cup winning team. Australia’s World Cup defence starts in Bristol against Afghanistan on June 1. The 10 competing nations play each other once before the top four teams lock horns in the semi-finals ahead of the final at Lord’s on July 14.
