Carlos Brathwaite reveals his sporting heroes

The West Indies star Carlos Brathwaite who made himself a hero, when he smashed four consecutive balls over the fence off the bowling of Ben Stokes to win the ICC World T20 2016 final against England at Eden Gardens to ensure his team lifted the trophy for the second time.

The 27-year-old revealed his sporting heroes in an interview with Sky Sports’ IPL reporter Mark Butcher. Surprisingly, Brathwaite’s cricketing hero is India legend Rahul Dravid. He also revealed that he used to bat like him!

It was quite a surprise when he revealed Dravid as one of his sporting heroes, since, Brathwaite is known for his power hitting whereas Rahul Dravid was more of a classical batsman who played conventional shots. The West Indian is currently playing for Delhi Daredevils in the competition, and Dravid is the team mentor.

DD keep changing the team combination a lot and so Carlos Brathwaite and Chris Morris has been switching on and off in the playing 11.

Brathwaite is a big football fan. He is a fan of Manchester United and Fiorentina, discussed his respect for footballers Cristiano Ronaldo, Gabriel Batistuta and Rui Costa.
